 • Pictures from the VTS Awards dinner
Our annual VTS Awards dinner at Read's was a great success last night. The event takes place in honour of Mrs Kwan Chan, one of Peter Livesey's patients who generously bequeathed a fund to award an annual prize to the 'Registrar of the Year' - as voted for by all the other registrars on the Canterbury scheme.

The evening started with champagne before dinner, and time for a few photographs...

Our medical students, and Bill the new registrar
Our current group of medical students certainly enjoyed the evening, as did Bill on the right, who is joining us as a new registrar in February.

An excellent meal followed, with much hilarity in some quarters. Finally, Peter announced the award winners.

Little black dresses were compulsory that evening.

The Award winners at the end of the evening...
The award winners - Tina won first prize, with Dan & Sioned coming in equal second place.

The three of us who won the award were extremely touched - this is a particularly special honour as the winner is chosen by a vote of confidence from all the registrars on the VTS scheme. All the winners are about to finish their training, and this was a wonderful way to finish off the VTS - thanks to all who voted and especially to Kim & Peter for all their support over the last three years!
