Tina, Sioned, Imran, Mohammed, Jo, Jasmin and I attended the MRCGP Prep course at the college in London last week. This was a five day course that covered all aspects of the exam, including video and oral preparation as well as the written papers. There were mock questions under exam conditions and at the end of the course we were all provided with individual feedback on our current standard - extremely useful, if a little daunting at first.
The quality of teaching was excellent, with a good mix of lectures and small group work. The work focussed on techniques for passing the exam, and a lot of useful information about likely topics, methods of marking and pass marks emerged during the course of the week. The instructors are all active in the exam process, and you get a real feel for what to expect when you sit the various modules. The food is good (you do pay a lot for the course after all!) and there is a social dinner on the Thursday evening.
In all I can thoroughly recommend this course. It is worth noting that of people who attend, the eventual pass rate is roughly 90%. However, places are limited, and the next course with availability is in September, so book now!
