 • Family Planning Course at Northwick park hospital
Just completed the family planning course for DFFP at Northwick park hospital. Good value for the money £330.00, consist of all 6 modules needed for the DFFP.

It may be good idea to this course during the HCOOP or psychiatry appointments since there are no other course related to these jobs.

If you do not use the allocated money for each 6 months, you will loose it and end up paying for your self during the GP reg year.

 • Evaluation and feedback 31/03/04
Kim asked me to post the results of the end of term evaluation exercise...
Your suggested topics for future programs are listed here. We will address these during the VTS sessions and lunch-time meetings over the next 2 terms. Where subjects have been on a recent program they will be revisited within 1-2 years.
Consultations
•Models
•Vague presentations
•Somatoform disorders
•Telephone communications

Topics for skills stations
•Dermatology
•ENT
•Ophthalmology
•Common GP problems

General topics
•Emergencies in the surgery
•What’s new in psychiatry?
•Referral letters
•The new contract
•Practice management
•Community service provision (domestic violence, child abuse, alcoholism, social worker)
MRCGP
We will be pleased to incorporate the use of role-play, journal review and members presentations. There will also be a few topics to add from the course organisers.

Results from the round robin
(1 strongly agree, 5 strongly disagree)

You seemed to enjoy this method of evaluation and prefer the approach to the sheets often used at the end of a teaching session.

You will note from the results that the instructions for the exercise have not been followed in all cases! I wonder how this reflects on how well we communicate and our ability to listen, understand and follow instructions? You may like to think about this with your next patient.
