 • Website Housekeeping
There was some discuassion about this website at last weeks teaching session. Points mentions were as follows:
  • Since Jenny has finished I think I (Jhumur) have become the main person to deal with the website, at least on the Canterbury side, so give me a shout if you have an queries - and I'll call Webmaster Dan!
  • Job descriptions for the Canterbury scheme are now out of date. If one person in each specialty could write me a brief job description, including banding, rota etc I could get these posted onto the site (with the help of Dan the Man Horton-Szar)
  • The page for the Thanet job descriptions links into the old and now defunct website, this needs to be removed and again new job descriptions can be given to me or Siva who is the main computer person for the Thanet side.
  • Anyone who wants to know how to post info onto this site themselves, just give me a username and password and I will ask Dan to set up an account on Blogger for you. I can also give written instructions on how to do it.

 • Some Good Courses
I have been on a couple of courses recently and thought you guys might find the info useful:

Child Health Surveillance and Promotion
No longer compulsory for GP but very useful. I went on one arranged by Imperial College, held next door to the Brompton and thought it was excellent, with lots of useful and practical advice. The next course will be in February or March. Cost £290

(There was also a course held at Margate recently which is cheaper but I thought this course looked better.)
Family Planning Theoretical Course
This course is the theory part for the Diploma of the Faculty of Family Planning. It was held at St. Thomas' in London. This was a 4 day course, 2 days family planning, 2 days STI teaching (which totally puts you off sex). The latter part was not quite as good as I was expecting but I still learnt a lot overall. Cost £500

There is a link to the DFFP website which has list of courses on the left but beware these get booked up well in advance. I booked in June to attend in October.

 • NIGHT OUT
In trying to get as many people along, I forgot to factor myself in! I am away the first week in November, so have stuck with the original plans.

Wednesday 27th October, 7:30pm, Tapas en la Trece. The tapas come to about £12 a head, with drink and desserts on top.

Hope to see you there! Please let Katie/ Claire know if you can make it, so that I can book numbers accordingly.
