The Ramsgate East Cliff Medical Practice was formed in 2005 by the merger of the previous Mildmay and Addington Street Practices.
The new surgery building, was completed in December 2006, is in Montefiore Ward on the East Cliff of Ramsgate. The combined practice catchment area includes the southern parts of the town, extending westwards to Nethercourt and Cliffsend and northwards and eastwards into the Upton Ward of neighbouring Broadstairs.
We are 7 medical partners (of whom 4 are GP trainers) assisted by 2 salaried doctors. We usually have (no more than) 2 GP Registrars. Partners have special interests in audit, child psychiatry, family planning, musculoskeletal medicine, obesity, occupational medicine and palliative care. Dr Robert Sadler is Chairman of the Kent Local Medical Committee whilst Dr Catherine Neden is also an MRCGP examiner and VTS course organiser. The practice provides care for a local specialist school, a long term residential unit for those with profound disabilities and another for the elderly mentally ill.
The practice is committed to high quality personal medical care. It has received external accreditation with the Quality Practice award of the Royal College of General Practitioners as well as the Investors in People award. It has been a member of the Medical Research Council GP research network for a number of years and has recently received Primary Care Research Team accreditation.
The practice provides a full range of primary care services. We have a full practice nursing team as well as health visitors, district nurses and counsellors and are ably supported by a friendly administrative team under the leadership of our managing partner.
